Although simplified by words like “Cloud” and “Internet” the fundamental truth remains — we live in a world of digital silos — constrained by the limits of having to traverse from one silo to the next. This truth has forced a stifling level of complexity within and between applications and only hinders innovation as we look toward the future. With humankind beginning to realize how much impact software can have, we find ourselves more determined than ever to answer our question. And with that, we’ve set out on what will prove to be a journey of a lifetime.

To even begin to answer this question, software must be more intuitive and better align with how people perceive and interact with the world. Today, using software to build applications is anything but intuitive. Each year building and maintaining applications becomes increasingly more complex and convoluted as applications layer on solution after solution to address an ever growing list of challenges and expectations. In making software less foreign and easier for people to harness we can unlock previously unknown potential and continue on our journey to answer our simple question. But, to achieve this a new approach is required.

In re-imagining what it is to build, run and share software, we have created a new kind of application platform that takes one of the most fundamental aspects of software development — object-orientation — and makes it the singular focus of an application.
